“Saying farewell is also a bold and powerful beginning”
In April 2003, Aron Ralston was hiking alone in a Utah canyon when he dislodged an 800-pound boulder that crushed and pinned his right hand. After five days trapped alone and nearing death, Aron amputated his lower arm with a dull knife. Once freed, he rappelled a 65-foot-high cliff and then hiked six miles to a miraculous rescue. Aron recaptured this unbelievable experience in his 2004 book, Between a Rock and Hard Place. In 2010, Aron's story was made into the Oscar nominated film, 127 Hours.
