Gail Ramsberger is chair and associate professor in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the Academy of Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS), sits on the advisory board for AHSA Division 2: Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders, and is a founding member and board member of Brain Buddy, a non-profit that encourages greater independence for people with aphasia through self-advocacy, peer support and use of technologies. Dr. Ramsberger completed her undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the University of Colorado-Boulder and her doctoral studies at Boston University. Her research focuses on understanding how communication success can be achieved when there is a significant language impairment as a result of acquired brain damage. Her work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation and the James S. McDonnell Foundation. Gail lives in Boulder with her husband, Harvey Hine. They have two sons, Will and Harris, who both go to school in NYC.
Gail chooses to work with The Chanda Plan Foundation because she believes that the programs offered can truly improve the quality of life for people living with physical disabilities.
